Brainspotting in Intensives

Where you look affects how you feel. Where you have time to look changes everything.

Brainspotting starts from something researchers noticed and clients feel immediately: eye position is connected to where the brain holds experience. Find the spot, and you've found a doorway to material that talking alone can't reach. It's a quieter, more body based, deeper cousin of EMDR, and for a lot of people, especially those who've felt "talked out" in therapy, it goes places words don't.

I'm a Certified Brainspotting therapist, which means training beyond the basics and a lot of hours in the chair and under supervision doing this work. In an intensive format, Brainspotting gets what it does best: time and space for your nervous system and brain to lead the healing.

Why Brainspotting in an intensive format

Brainspotting is not a technique you rush. The work has its own pace, set by your system, not the therapist. In a weekly session, that pace and the clock are often in a standoff. In an intensive, they're not. We find the spot(s), and we stay with the process as long as it needs, with breaks when your body asks for them. Processing that gets cut short week after week gets to run all the way through instead, and that's when Brainspotting does its deepest work.

What people bring to Brainspotting intensives

- Trauma that's stored more in the body than in a clear story

- Preverbal or early experiences you can't put words to, because you didn't have words yet

- Performance blocks, athletes, musicians, and public-facing professionals use Brainspotting for these

- Anxiety, panic, and reactivity with roots that talking hasn't reached

- The THING you can feel but can't explain

Brainspotting pairs naturally with Parts Work, and I often weave the two together in intensives, along with EMDR when it fits. The plan is built around you at the preparation, Intensive, and Integration sessions, not off a menu.
